Why we made it

Neither of us had the privilege of traveling outside of North America in our childhood, but we both grew up with a curiosity about the world outside of our borders.

Dan's mom had traveled across Europe prior to having Dan and regularly spoke of her adventures visiting London, Paris, Rome, and more. Vy's parents told her stories of growing up in Asia and living in Canada before moving to the United States and having Vy.

As silly as it may sound, vacations we had individually taken to EPCOT's World Showcase at Disney World and the themed hotels on Las Vegas Strip had further seeded a list of the countries and landmarks that we hoped to one day see for real.

We've since been able to travel the world, individually and together. As is the case for many, our worldviews have continually evolved after being immersed in diverse cultures - with many unique elements and as many unexpected similarities.

We hope this book ignites similar interest in world travel and world cultures for all the children who go on the journey.
