Personalize Your Book
How to get started
-
Recipient information
First and last name:
Input the recipient's first and last name, which will be used throughout the book. There is a 12 character maximum length for each. Please contact us if you are trying to enter a longer name.
Gender:
Select the recipient's gender from the drop-down menu.
-
Dedication (optional)
You can include a dedication to be printed on the first page of the book at no additional cost. Dedications will be printed with the exact language, spelling, and formatting you input.
Dedications have 3 components:
- Greeting (e.g., "Happy Birthday, Madison!"). Up to 30 characters.
- Message: Up to 100 characters (roughly 2 sentences).
- Signature (e.g., "Love, Auntie Vy & Uncle Dan"). Up to 30 characters.
Leave the fields blank if you do not wish to include a dedication.
-
Reference image
We only need a single image of the recipient to enable individualized illustrations to be used in the book. If you don't have an image of the recipient at the time of checkout, you can place the order without submitting an image and we will send you an email to upload the image separately.
See below for tips on how to get the best results!
As a reminder, the image you submit is only used for the creation of your book. We delete submitted images shortly after production and use the images for no other purposes.
Reference image tips
-
Upload and crop
If you have the perfect headshot, you're all set! If you don't, you can use our built-in image editor to crop a photo down to the recipient's face.
-
Good reference images
Please ensure the photo you submit is an accurate representation of the recipient's appearance, and clearly shows all of their face and enough of their hair. Pictures of pictures are okay so long as the resolution is clear.
-
Bad reference images
Be sure to avoid images with:
- Low resolution, where facial features are hard to identify
- Multiple people (although you can use our built-in image editor to drop down to just the recipient)
- Glasses or eyewear
- Hats or poses that prevent observing hair color and style
- Costumes or other subjects that prevent a complete and unobstructed view of the face
- Funny faces that, although cute, do not resemble everyday appearance
